ICIP2025 Workshop Proposal

Artificial Intelligence in Precision, Autonomous and Sustainable Agriculture (AIPASA)
September 14 – 17, 2025 // Anchorage Alaska, USA
Description

Image and video data are pivotal in emerging smart agriculture. The workshop aims to bring together researchers and practitioners working in the areas of artificial intelligence and data science for precision, autonomous, and sustainable agriculture, broadly defined. Agriculture, facing the challenges of climate change, aging labor force, and soil degradation, poses great research opportunities for AI and data sciences. Remote sensing, hyperspectral images, autonomous driving and operations in agriculture also provide new contents and rich scenarios for image and video processing.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Image and Video Processing in Agricultural Applications. Image and video data are significant information sources for smart agriculture. This session will focus on the development and application of advanced image and video processing techniques for agricultural monitoring, prediction, and management.
  • Remote Sensing and Information Processing for Agriculture. Remote sensing technology provides valuable data for monitoring large agricultural areas. This session will explore the use of remote sensing and information processing techniques for the analyze of soil, environment, crops, and other critical agricultural tasks.
  • Multispectral and Hyperspectral Image/Video Processing for Agriculture. Multispectral and hyperspectral imaging offer unique insights into the biochemical properties of crops and soils. This session will delve into the latest advancements in multispectral and hyperspectral image/video processing for agricultural applications.
  • LLM and Multi-modal Large Models for Agriculture. Large language models (LLMs) and multi-modal large models have shown remarkable capabilities in understanding and generating text, images, and other forms of data. This session will explore the potential of these models for agricultural applications.
  • Self-Driving Farm Vehicles and Precision Operations. Autonomous farm vehicles are becoming increasingly common in smart agriculture. This session will focus on the development and implementation of self-driving farm vehicles and precision operation techniques for tasks such as planting, managing, and harvesting.
  • Computer Vision and Navigation Techniques for Farm Robots. Farm robots are essential for automating various agricultural tasks. This session will explore the latest advancements in computer vision and navigation techniques for farm robots. It will also discuss the potential of these techniques for improving the accuracy and efficiency of farm operations.
  • Case Studies of AI and Data Science for Smart Farms. This session will present real-world case studies of AI and data science applications in smart farms. It will provide insights into the implementation process, and discuss the potential for scalability and replication in other agricultural contexts.

Submissions are regular and (short) challenge papers and will be reviewed by the workshop TPC. The workshop will feature contribution talks, panel discussions, as well as an invited keynote by a prominent researcher in the field.
